My favorite action figure

Some of you may think you know what action figure I am going to pick as my favorite of all time. I bet those of you that know me are guessing the original Star Wars action figures like Non-rocket firing Boba Fett, Shorty Robes Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Greedo, Han Solo or maybe some of the GI-Joe classics like Cobra Commander, Snakes eyes, Destro and Baroness.  Sure, they are all great and I have many fond memories of them, but none hold the title of my favorite action figure of all time.  That honor goes to Stinkor, or as my father used to call him Skunkor (which I think was a better name).  If none of you are familiar with this foul smelling, polecat looking action figure, here’s the lowdown.

Stinkor was a character from The Masters of the Universe (He-Man, MOTU), and was one of Skeletors henchmen ( if you want to know more of his back story click on this great link He-Man Wikia ).  Stinkor was created by Mattel way back in 1985 and came with a mini- comic book called The Stench of Evil.  However, what made Stinkor cool was that he had an odor.  He actually smelled pretty close to a skunk.  I was blown away as a kid by this, and was amazed that they were able to actually make him smell like the foul smelling animal.  I don't recall the minicomic though, and knowing me I just ripped open the packaging and went right for Stinkor.  I'm sure you’re all saying,  “Big deal Mike. Sure he looks cool and he had a unique smelling point (wink, wink) , but he shouldn’t be your all time favorite.”   Well, I am getting to my reason for him being my all time favorite
action figure.
Original 1985 Stinkor
Back when I was boy I was on the verge of being kept back a year.  I remember it being an early spring day when my father called me over to the “rock” (it’s a place where my father would have a heart to heart with my siblings and me) and he told me he had something he wanted to talk to me about.  I was petrified because I knew it had to be about school.  I thought for sure I was being kept back.  My classmates already picked on me for my awful glasses and for being a bad student, and the last thing I wanted was for them to pick on me for this.  I’m not sure how long our talk was, it felt like 12 hours back then, when in reality it was probably only about 10 minutes, but after he had told me I had to go to summer school he made me  look behind the trash can (fitting place to hide Stinkor, Dad).  He said he left something there and wanted me to get it.  Well, the moment I saw Stinkor and all his odorific glory I was smiling from ear to ear.  Maybe this wasn't the parental thing to do, but it sure relieved my fears, made me feel like it was going to be ok and that my dad was on my side... and Stinkor as well.  Sadly, I lost Stinkor back in the day, but my father and I used to bring him up in conversation from time to time, as well as the other He-Man action figures, and have a good laugh about their names.  Looking back, they were like garbage pail kids with all their crazy names and attributes.  Thankfully, I was able to find Stinkor online.  Sure, he’s not the original, but at least I have him in my collection.  This time I won't lose him and he’ll soon have company.  Moss Man is next.  Which, you guessed it, is my second favorite action figure of all time.  I’m curious to hear what your favorite action figure of all time is.   Feel free to tweet to me what yours is @The_Jedi_Hermit
