Clone Wars: Revival Episode

Hello there.  I've struggled with this first review post because I don’t want to sound like everyone else on the interwebs, and this writing thing is hard for me.  I even had to go for a late night drive last night to clear my head.  Going forward, I don’t really see this as a review, but more as my commentary on the most interesting things I saw in this episode.  This episode had a lot of great elements, but I tend to look for the hidden messages.  Now, with everything going on you would think this wouldn't be the most important thing I saw because it was at the very end, but when Darth Sidious gave a smirk at that moment, it made me stop and think back to ROTJ.

“Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.” - Darth Sidious.  Why would that smirk at the end of this episode make me think of that classic quote you ask?  Well, glad you asked.  Now, on Wookieepedia it states that Maul used his anger and hatred for Obi-Wan to survive his death and  that may be true, but I have a feeling there is more to the story.  Sidious was the best puppet master in the galaxy and I am positive he knew his apprentice had survived.  I also have a suspicion that Sidious helped Maul and left him on Lotho Minor so he could use him when the time was right.  I’m sure you may think I’m crazy, but we have to remember, the clone wars saga is still being written and George and Dave might go back to this event in the future.  Maybe even this season.  Sure we see Sidious in the preview clip of season five telling Maul he’s no longer his apprentice and we see Maul get zapped, but Sidious is a resourceful Sith.  Even when Vader gets burned he doesn't write him off.  I don’t believe he would write Maul off either.  Then again I’m probably wrong and Sidious is just taking advantage of the situation.  Sidious is always plotting and staying several steps ahead of everyone.  That’s what intrigues me most about his character, and I don't think he would have not seen this coming.  That little smirk has my imagination running wild, and I cannot wait to see how this all plays out.  Sadly, I don't think this will be resolved at the end of the season.  I'm sure most of you will disagree with my take on this, but I look forward to a friendly debate on this subject, as well as others in the future.  In fact, thanks to one of my twitter followers and after seeing this episode, I’ll be going back to my “Who will fall in season five” post. Again, thank you for reading my post and if you would like to debate with me on any of these issues, you can reach me on twitter @The_Jedi_Hermit. MTFBWY
